A Bit of ‘Alright’

A Bit of ‘Alright’

November 18, 2012

Cap Alright becomes the fifth graded stakes winner from different branches of the Terpsichore family, as he gets the better of close relative (and another Normandy-bred) Depardieu in the Grade II Betting World Merchants.

Terpsichore is the grandam of Champions Winter Solstice and Mother Russia, and the great grandam of Bravura, Depardieu and Cap Alright.

Given his form over the past two months, it’s astonishing to think that Cap Alright took 11 starts to break his maiden (including an attempt at 1800m). His half-brother, Second Fortune, was a hard-knocking performer in Port Elizabeth, with 11 wins up to the age of seven.
