28 May 2016 is a date we won’t easily forget.
We were understandably excited when Nordic Breeze won the Grade III Kenilworth Fillies Nursery. She had opened her account by becoming the first two-year-old of the season to win in open company, which she did on debut. She encountered traffic problems at her next start, finishing unplaced. This time, however, Robert Khathi kept her out of trouble, and delivered her for an emphatic win over smart fillies.
Nordic Breeze was sold at the 2016 CTS Ready to Run sale. Ken and Jane Truter kindly allowed us to retain a share.
35 minutes later, another graduate of that sale, Sergeant Hardy, took his tally to three wins from four starts, with a comprehensive victory in the Grade III Cape of Good Hope Nursery. He had previously won the Summer Juvenile Stakes on J&B Met day.
We own him entirely, so that was two bred and owned Nursery winners in one afternoon!
